Marcus Cole joined the Rangers because of a promise to his
brother. His brother was a member of this secret organization
before Marcus had even heard of the Rangers. His brother tried
to tell Marcus about the Shadows, but Marcus didn't want to hear
or believe what he was told. It was only when his brother was
killed trying to save a colony from the Shadows did Cole finally
see the truth. As his brother lay dying, Marcus vowed to seek out
and join the Rangers.   Marcus spends every day of his life trying
to atone for the guilt over his brother's death. Working for the
Rangers will not bring his brother back, but it does ease the
pain. His grief is hidden under a facade of cheerfulness. At
times Marcus seems frivolous, at other times cautious. He says
that he wants to live to a ripe old age, but has shown himself to
be more than willing to give his life to his cause on more than
one occasion.   He has a cynical sense of humor and is very
stubborn. He worships Ivanova, but is shy around her. He is
assumed to be dead after giving his life to save Ivanova's by
using Franklin's life-engergy transfer machine.

every chance they get, and the results are funny.  Don't miss out any opportuninty to
see either one, but never miss the two of them together.
